Zadie Smith's On beauty

Newton le Willows Reading Group - BookFace Reading Groups Set in New England mainly and London partly, "On Beauty" concerns a pair of feuding families - the Belseys and the Kipps - and a clutch of doomed affairs. It puts low morals among high ideals and asks some searching questions about what life does to love. For the Belseys and the Kipps, the confusions - both personal and political - of our uncertain age are about to be brought close to home: right to the heart of family.

Reader's reviews
The writing is adventurous
I was not disappointed
a rollicking story
. . .found myself being completely drawn into its world. . .
Reviews from Amazon.co.uk

Previous reads have been "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostova, "Secret Asset" by Stella Rimington.

We are a mixed age group, some retired, some working full and part-time, more ladies than men at present, who like books and reading. Our discussions are wide ranging and extend beyond the initial content of the book. We do look at the literary style, but generally discuss was it a good read, did we like the book or didn't we!

We also have a Teenage Reading Group, find out more here!
