Rainhill Library

The group meets at Rainhill Library every 2nd Thursday of the month at 7pm-9pm. Access is gained, when the library is closed, via the back door adjacent to the car park. There is a bell which can be rung in order to gain access.

First contact should be made to Nora Duckett at Rainhill Library, telephone 01744 677824. The group choose, on a 12 month programme, what they would like to read & discuss. The chosen book is supplied by the library service & is given out one month then returned & discussed the following month. We ask that if members are not able to attend, they let us have their comments & return the book before the next session.

At present we have 16 active members who attend regularly. There is no obligation to attend all sessions and recrimination is not administered in the event of non-attendance. We feel strongly that members should attend because they wish to do so, not because they feel obliged to do so!

Here's a list of some of the books we've read and discussed previously.

The Wrong Boy - Willy Russell

Touching the Void - Joe Simpson

A Short History of Tractors in the Ukraine - Marina Lewycha

A Curious Incident of Dogs in the Nightime Mark Haddon
